Brian Okonek, ADG Inc`s. co-director and chief guide, has been climbing in the Alaska Range since 1973 and has completed 35 expeditions up Denali, including 16 traverses. Brian`s lifelong dedication to Denali, combined with his many years as a professional guide, gives him a depth of knowledge and expertise equalled by few people. Blaine, 38, has been guiding for ADG, Inc. for twelve years. He was born and raised in Alaska and thoroughly enjoys sharing this beautiful country with others. He has climbed Denali 12 times, climbed hundreds of peaks in other mountains in Alaska and Canada including Mt. Blackburn , Marcus Baker, Mt. Logan, King Peak and Mt. Sanford to name just a few. His travels have taken him climbing in the Northwest, Yosemite, Equador , Mexico and Argentina. While not guiding for ADG Inc. Blaine is busy as a carpenter. We are sure you will enjoy your time in the mountains with him.
Mike Wood
Mike, 31, has been guiding for ADG, Inc. for 6 years. He started working in Alaska in 1991, as a mountaineering instructor for the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS). Those thirty-day courses allowed him to see a huge area of the Alaskan mountains in the last nine years, and gain plenty of insight into the variabilities of climbing in Alaska. Mike has also been pursuing his own personal climbing in earnest, from Mt. Sanford and Drum in the Wrangell-St. Elias, a 210 mile dog sled/ski traverse of the Alaska Range, and a remarkable two day ascent of the Cassin Ridge on Denali. He spends as much time in the mountains as possible. Mike lives in Talkeetna, and is spending the winter doing research for a new book on Alaska's Mountains.
Tyson Bradley
Tyson, 34, has been guiding with Alaska-Denali Guiding, Inc. on the West Buttress and Karstens Ridge of Denali since 1994. After the Denali season Tyson guides for Timberline Mountain Guides at Mt. Hood and in the winter guides for Exum Mtn. Adventures in Utah. If he is not guiding you are likely to find him free heel skiing extreme routes on Denali or any of the worlds steep, snowy mountains. His many accomplishments include skiing the Wickersham Wall of Denali, the Sultana Ridge of Mt. Foraker and Carpe Ridge on Mt. Fairweather. Tyson has traveled to China on various mountaineering trips. He is a dedicated full time mountaineer and all of his years in the mountains will give you an incredible resource for learning about climbing Alaska's mountains.

A resident of Washington state for most of his life, Bob,39, has been involved in climbing and skiing with his father since the age of four, developing a deep appreciation and love for the mountains. Bob has climbed extensively throughout the western United States, and Alaska, Canada, Europe and China. He has been an assistant guide for six traverse climbs with Alaska-Denali Guiding, Inc. His depth of worldwide experience and dedication to safety is a great asset to any climb.
Matt Porter
Matt, 23, is a lifelong Alaskan who grew up on a small farm in Trapper Creek, near the base of Denali. His log house has a great view of the Alaskan Range. Matt was a competitive skier at the local Talkeetna High School, and he is now a student at the University of Alaska, Anchorage studying Outdoor Education. When he was 18 years old Matt and a friend started a month long journey from the road near Matt's house, up and over Denali and out to Wonder Lake. This is a rarely accomplished approach and climb and an incredible success for someone so young. Since then, Matt has spent years climbing notable routes in Alaska and New Zealand. Besides mountaineering, Matt enjoys cross country skiing, telemarking, rock and ice climbing and fly fishing.
Thai Verzone
Thai, 25, is an enthusiastic climber and spends his entire winters climbing all over the world. In 1997 Thai, along with a partner won the Alaska Wilderness Classic, a renown wilderness race that crosses 200 miles of trailless wilderness. He has an extensive climbing background in Alaska, South America, New Zealand and Nepal. Thai's congenial personality and natural skill in the mountains contributes greatly to the gift of sharing the mountains with people from all walks of life.

Kirby Spangler
Kirby,28, has a deep appretiation for the outdoors which began at an early age in the north woods of Wisconsin. When Kirby was 10 years old he and his father began taking trips "out west," to the mountains. These trips came to an apex in 1989, when they rode their bicycles from Missoula, Montana to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska.

That journey began what has become a life devoted to exploration ans adventure. Following the trip, Kirby entered the University of Oregon. He eventually earned a degree in geography, but the most important lessons were learned during the weekends, on the summits and crags of the Oregon Cascades. After graduating, Kirby began his career as a mountain guide on these very peaks. Kirby has since returned to Alaska many times, and has been guiding on the mountains and rivers here for the past three seasons.

Through his work, Kirby enjoys sharing with others the landscape that
originally inspired him to pursue a career in guiding.

In 1995, she attempted Gashabrum 1 in Pakistan with a strong team, but weather conditions kept them from reaching the summit.

Last spring Georgie finally reached the summit of a Himalayan peak when she and two others reached the summit of Cho Oyu (8201m) and became the first American Women’s team to summit an 8000 meter peak without supplemental oxygen or sherpas! This will be her first season with ADG.
